I have been noticing a lot of wood chippers are working around Bundaberg after those strong winds did a lot of damage.
I was even thinking , what if a branch got snagged on your sleeve.......................

This was a bad one.

It's terrifying to think what they can do to a human body.
Years ago there was a case where a pretty young woman was murdered this way and the only way they were able to ascertain that the pulverized remains in a tree were hers was by a single tooth. A man was arrested for her murder.
There was this movie I saw years ago where this mysterious short bald killer ends up in one of these machines and all this thick dark bloody fluid spurts out the other end and splashes all over the side of a ship.

When I got my Construction Induction card (also known as the red card or white card) we had to watch CGI & real life accidents involving anything construction from picks, chainsaws, nail guns, wood chippers to forklifts. Not a particularly pleasant experience that's for sure! So yes I've seen someone loose their hands in a chipper by getting a shirt sleeve caught.

Usually it's someone who shouldn't be anywhere near machinery like this picture that's been doing the rounds of late:
